    EKII from Africa

    Hi
This is only one EKII, but I like it because it have a story. Postumus awarded EKII (long ribbon) posted to family, and you can see the name on the packet front side.
No maker mark on the EKII, only on the packet-Ernst L Muller Pfozheim I think it is 76.
On the front side of the packet you can see the name of the unit: III/104.In first time I think this is not too good, because the 104. schützen regiment had 2 bataillon. I investigated for information. In march 1941 arrived in Africa the 15. Kradschützen bataillon. and fighting for the Sollum and Halfaya. This bataillon lost many man, remain only 45 man.In february 1942 the Kradschützen bataillon refilled (3 kompanie) and its attached to 104 schützen regiment.(III.bataillon) The commander of the III bataillon captain Reissman, who leaded the capture of the forced allied entrenchment at Got el Ualeb.
Captain Reissman awarded with Knight Cross in 28 july 1942.
