EK2 Spange on a Medal Bar.

I am okay with the bar in this photo but it came with this spange attached and I am wondering how real it may be. I have researched a little bit on the forum but would appreciate some opinion from those more accustomed to handling them.

One prong on the back is missing and when I tilt it up I cannot see a maker mark present. The two upper prongs are crimped on well so I will not try and remove the spange for fear of snapping one of them.

Many thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Anything is possible, but would a full-sized Spange likely be on a medal bar?

It looks weird indeed, but I have seen these combo before. But I have always thought it was done for display.

does it look like it's been on there a while?
a broken prong sounds suspicious, but the spange itself is 100% good

                Thanks for the comments guys.

The bottom prongs are through the ribbon ring so movement of the medal might have caused a breakage. The upper prongs have been bent in at a slight angle at the top...I think to prevent them from coming back out easily.

I bought this on eBay about a year ago...the guy had covered the swas with a dime ! The eBay police left it alone and I was the only one to bid on it.
