I found mint EK2 1939 with "Fr" on ring.

Ring and loop are not tampered, they are closed, so it is not the case that someone just replaced the ring.

I would be happy to hear your opinions.

Cross is standard, three piece manufacture with magnetic center.

    Regards
    Jani

Nice 1939 EK2 by maker 14 (Christian Lauer) with a 1914 EK2 ring marked by Fr. (Gebr. Friedländer). I suppose it's possible they were manufactured together, but only because I've learned not to rule anything out when it comes to parts-swapping among EK makers. But I'd say it's more likely the ring is a replacement for a lost one. I bet jewelers today can close these rings; they could certainly do it back then.
          Best regards,

Some time ago on Ebay there were about 50 rings removed from awards, some still with the eyelet from the top of the cross. I have no idea why or how they were removed.... but I posted back then that we will see strange and interesting variations popping up.....
