Need help with an Ek,
not going to bother posting a pic of the front because it's an awful blurry pic
have a good pic of the back though
can anyone make a call on it from the pic
good? bad?

There is a stamped number above the catch - as the cross sits here - covered up by the pin . Can you read the number on it ???

My guess is 3 too . Houshold items that may help ;
Looking through a pair of binaculars backwards - works as a instant magifyer ! Or your wifes makeup mirror - some have a 4 to 10x magnification - number will be backwards .
