EK II & EK I at one occassion?

EK II & EK I at one occassion?

Please allow me to ask some questions about te EK. Hope that they are not too stupid...

As far as I am aware (but I am not a specialist at all), it was not possible to be awared with the EK I, if one did not already have the EK II before.Is this correct?

Would it have been possible, that a soldier, after a longer mission was awared with the EK II first and tothe same occassion with the EK I as well?

It should be possible to have both EK2 and EK1 at the same time.
The soldier have maybe earn EK2 for a month ago and EK1 for two weeks ago and then recived both at the same time.

The soldier on the picture seems to have recived both at the same time

With a little research here, you should find more info. There were soldiers who earned both at the same time. And, I believe, there were a few instances where a soldier earned the 2nd, 1st, and Knights Cross all for one action.

A great example of EK2s and EK1s awarded at the same time is the FJ in Holland, 1940. There are great examples in Eric Queen's book, "Red Shines The Sun".
