HI, i am sure there are many books out there on the Iron Cross,but is there one that will let be knowwhat to look for between real and fakes and also the different makers and the difference between them pointed out. I hope you understand what i am looking for. I would like to start collecting thes beauties

I think that book(s) is still a work in progress - maybe Dietrich or George can update?
There are a few books, The Iron Time by Stephen Previtera, The Iron Cross of 1939 by Gordon Williamson to name a couple. Then there is the search function on the forum, I'm sure everything you want to know is here to be found and it is constantly updated too.

The book by George and myself will be out in August this year. Pre-publication sale will start very soon!

It will most likely satisfy the needs of 98% of all EK1 collectors and will also most likely be the target of of 2% of the collector community because we have (unknowingly) left out some pin curvature, core subtype or solder variation of some maker or even failed to identify something by clever cross referencing needle suppliers with catch benders and hinge polishers.

Just joking of course..... or not?

But fact is this: the book could not have been done without the help of a lot of people from this outstanding militaria forum with its worldwide community!
