        Stefan,

just be a little careful with what you say about "the Amis" in other fora. You know, we are a free country here and can read other posts outside of the USA.
If you are only looking for applause and unconditional affirmation (and no discussion), please say so up front and we (Amis and other collectors you might not deem worthy of reply) will oblige.

Just as a side note (and it has been mentioned somewhere else also): for me a maker is determined but the frame and next the core. If that is made by Mayer, it is a Mayer product. When Mayer sold this to Fritzchen Mueller, it is still a Mayer product IMHO.

What a (genuine) stamp might indicate is (only) the (possible) connection between two companies - not a determination factor of the maker.

And I hope this was a constructive reply!

I'm afraid that I agree with George.

It's clearly a good cross by BH Mayer -- many exist, many are unmarked. But how can you say that the L/50 mark is definitely good? It could be, but usually when we see a mark that does not conform to originals we call it questionable at best. Mostly we call it "fake."

An example: if you saw an obviously good Fritz Zimmermann (6.) EK1 with an L/12 mark that wasn't the same as any other known-good L/12 mark, wouldn't you call it a fake?

I know other collectors -- some of whom are friends who I respect enormously -- who like this kind of L/50 Mayer. So I am ready to believe it is original. However, I don't yet.

I think it is your burden to prove this cross is good, rather than simply stating it is a rare original.

I will post my SB later today, and I'm pretty sure you don't have it.

            About this cross:
there are at least 2 more, a while back I bought 2 and traded one with Lucky Luudje
It was discussed then as well

              According to the same statement:

See this EK1 SB marked L/50 it is a Carl Friedrich Zimmermann, Pforzheim product marked with [L/50] instead [L/52].

              [L/52] Carl Friedrich Zimmermann, Pforzheim
              L/18 Bernard Heinrich Mayer, Pforzheim

Both are located @ Pforzheim!!! DOES IT MAKE CLICK ?

AND EK1 LDO SELLER OF BERLIN HAD A SPECIAL STATUS!!! DID YOU SEE PICTURES OF THE MANUFACTURING OF GODET OR DID YOU SEE PICTURES OF A LATE WAR PRODUCTION OF JUNCKER?

@ Dietrich Maerz & George Stimson

Good luck for you EK1 Book Project - I'm looking forward to it

And I wrote not "the amis" !!! I wrote a lot of amis would stoned me to death, when I come with my opinion that Godet did not produced any EK1 1939! Anyway nice propaganda

FREE YOUR MIND I try to share only my point of view, that's all!

MY POINT OF VIEW: GODET DID NOT PRODUCED ANY EK1 1939! AND I LIKE STAMPED L/50 ZIMMERMANN AND B.H. MAYER THEY ARE RARE

Do you think that they produced the EK 2 and/or the RK?

Sorry Giel, I don't collect crosses. It is just the word 'rar' in a certain combination that is a liiiittle annoying...

                              Hi Ben

your L/14 EK1 is very very rare, but I thougt that the EK1 L/14 should be built with a Souval frame like this one! See the pictures below!

I see a standard frame not a Souval frame!

Are you sure it is the right combination of a L/14 Friedrich Orth, Wien?

I hope not, that this EK1 is a reworked EK1 with standard frame.

If this EK1 is the orignal combination, this cross will be turbo ultra rare!!!

I think I would know the answer, if I got this EK1 in my hand and under my electrical microscope

Stefan, i know that /14 crosses usually have a souval frame.
This cross is not some re-assembled ek, the seam is hardly visible.
the core is magnetic, and I have an ek2 marked 15 with the same core and the same finish.

I haven't seen a second one so far....
