Hi,
This is a new one to me. I have not seen a screwback configuration like this on a genuine German Iron Cross before. On all the genuine ones I can remember seeing, the female thread is attached to the back of the cross and the male thread is on the back of the round disk. I have not see a base plate on the back of the cross behind the screwback fitting before either. The dimples on the screwdisk also reming me of communist / eastern European awards, not Third Reich German. The maker's mark looks OK but the spike post looks to be placed too close to the centre of the cross.
I am suspicious of this cross but can not say for sure if it is a repro. I don't have an L/12 EK1 with which to compare the obverse details of the Iron Core. I'm sure someone else will be able to. Is the centrepiece iron (ie attracts a magnet?) and what are the height/width of the cross?
Regards

Interesting piece. Probably wrong given its east european source and non-standard fittings but the quality looks very high.
You do find original period screwbacks with the male post on the back of the cross, I have had a few of these, but have never seen this on a Juncker made piece.
