    Doug,

    I would not use the term post war replacements. Some Knight's Cross winners did obtain the Souval crosses for themselves, but the majority were sold through collectors and dealers channels. Some of the early collectors, who attended Knight's Cross reunions, did note that Souval made crosses were in possession of a number of awardees. I suppose that others may have had post-war made Steinhauer and Lueck crosses.

    I compare it with those US Medal of Honor winners who have purchased replacement pieces that they bought and give to friends or other interested parties.

      Hi Bob :
      I only use that description as a KC novus . They do not show up in the KC pinned thread and are not even mentioned . They were only post war obtainable KC for Receipients and collectors alike . Hard to get the correct descriptive terminoligy here . Is 5000.-US too much for one ?

        I had a Souval once in my collection. I paid around 200 euro for the cross.
