Well thanks George! I was hoping as did Brian for some discussion and discovery!

There should be a 'point' where we know-it-alls should just let a thread develope and cause some folks who aren't as astute discuss an item!

We know you you know your crosses but as a moderator it really takes away from the intent of a post if you attempt to participate and pontificate in every one .....please allow some new folks to offer their observations and when asked then 'jump' in!

          Awwww crap...
Since the cat's out of the bag...
Improper "incused" 4 on the good old Latvian repro.
They should start putting flaws in those dies.

            Roy...exactly!!! The cross is obviously an early L/12, 2, 65, 21, 4, '800', and the most rare....L/15 with the 835 silver mark!

Come on Latvia....please show us one with the 835 mark!

That very corse beading is “classic Latvian” style.

Have you noted that on many of these award auctions, the seller never say if its reproduction or original. That leaves the buyer to decide if he should pay for fake or original. The seller has his back free, even if a buyer pay 5000 US Dollars for the junk, as he (seller) never said it was original.

                  Cheers.

                    Something to watch out for:
                    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2227291869

Looks like they are also making EK2's, notice very similar style beading to their RKs, in fact the metal, be it silver or an alloy they use for the frames is exactally the same. Core has also been aged.

Would you pick up on one of these unmarked in average condition?

                      This is from the seller:
Dug out at the Kurland battlefield last summer. Authentic artifact proven by a layer of rust.

                      Yeah right

It sorta takes the guesswork out when the picture is named "crap.jpg".

Dave, don't you think that beading looks like it could be lazer cut? Look at those fine points at the two corners. Without pulling it down and blowing it up, it doesn't look like the corners meet but are simply cut around.
