    Hello Joe

in my opinion it' s clearly an early Otto Schickle, a rare cross.
Some paint missing but it remains a very nice and interesting cross.

      the core is broken ?
on the left side ? or it is only missing color?

the core is good - the black color has got a small scratch at 12 o`clock and 9 o`clock.

I agree. It's a good Otto Schickle screwback. (I have one just like it.)

hello george nice piece, in my opinion a piece with iron core and brass over it, too... look at your core. i think these pieces were made for the kriegsmarine.

That little color difference on the core at the intersection of the 12 and 3 o'clock arms is not anything showing through the black paint, but is rather a piece of tan paper that is stuck under the corner of the frame.
