KVK Question

Could someone be awarded both the Swords and Without Swords versions of Merit Cross? I saw a medal bar with both versions of the 2nd Class on it and I am wondering if this was possible.

I guess this is possible when one did a certain function that got him the KVK without swords and then being transfered to a function that got him the KVK with sword. In that way he may wear both on the ribbon bar but he could only wear the actual KVK with swords on the uniform.
