What IS this thing?

I'm posting this, in order to reference another thread is this section, in the hope that someone might be able to identify the artifact on this mm '75' EKII, that I just received.

It seems to be a mystery, so far, and I'm hoping that one of you may have seen something similar, and might be able to shed light on it.

Could it be a solder spot that dropped onto the frame?

It's certainly possible, but I'm unfamiliar with the construction process.....Would the solder have been brass/gold colored?
