EK 1 Packet.

Hi,
I have a EK 1 packet that was with the L/11 EK cross.
The cross is original,but I don't know about the packet.
Any thoughts ???

EK Packet

Hello, I like the packet. It conforms to other original period contstruction for award packets(EK II's etc.) and I also like that you can see the various other fibers, I believe called the rag content, which is something not seen in paper that is of current production...If you ever want to sell the packet - I will buy it...John

There are some things about it that I do not like:

-The use of the gothic letter "S". This letter has two forms in the gothic script, "s" and "f". There are certain grammar rules that dictate when to use a certain one of these. In this case, "Eisernes" should be written with a "s" not a "f". Same goes for the word "Klasse", it should be written with double "s", not "f".

(I have revised some packets and I take this part of my comment back. There ARE indeed packets with this type of "S". Sorry.)

-Use of the "1" in connection with the gothic letters. It seems the 1 does not match the style of the letters/is from a different font.

-Lettering style on the back, looks too modern for my taste.
