    A strange EK2......

    Here you go Gents,
Can I gather your thoughts and opinions on this EK2 please. It is not mine but is being shown with the owners consent.
My thoughts are a possible post war assembly. The core looks Souval but the obverse core has a 'dipping 3' which to my knowledge hasn't been seen on a wartime EK2 by this maker.
The frame is not a typical Souval with the features we all recognise. The makers mark in the ring looks remarkably like L/58.
    All opinions would be welcome.

Adrian, you are far more knowledgeable than I. I think your comment on the maker mark is accurate. The one other option I felt it could be, other than L/58 is L/55...the 8, or 5 at the end looks a bit smooshed. Just my opinion though, I could be way off. Hope this little puzzle can be solved!

Post war production by Souval with original Souval core but new frame design and L/58 maker's mark.

              Could that mark read L/53?

Seems L/53 too but Daniel recognized that cross as post war Souval and Souval had L/58 in the LDO list.

                    Yep, L/58.
L55 are not marked in the ring but in the frame.
And its marked L55 and not L/55.
                    Regards
