I think the hoard pieces have a different font for the packet. aren't they?
I could be wrong, but the kvk2 I got from the hoard has a different font than this one.
Did it come with tissue paper for the medal, well either way nice cross you got there.

Forgive my ignorance, my specialty is WW2 German helmets. What do you mean by a "hoard" piece? Also, are these bronzed medals rarer than the zinc variety, and does this influence their value? Thanks!
The Deschler hoard was a large quantity of medals made by Deschler uncovered a few years ago. There were alot of KVKs 1st and 2nd class, EK2s, Ost medals, Mutterkreuz. If you do a search in this forum you will find many examples posted by members. Yours looks like it came from this find. I think there is a '1' stamped on the ribbon ring of your cross, can you confirm? Obviously the cross you show is worth more with it's packet than a late war zinc example. Weitze is selling these for 45€.
Here is a pic of some of my hoard pieces......
Hi Adrian,
Like the pic you posted, and the same as mine, the font on the packet for kvk2 w/ swords is different than the example posted and without tissue, at least in the pic. My question is, were the kvk2 w/swords packets all with the same font as in your pic or were they found with both font types. Being of different font types was this piece from the hoard or just a lone packeted Deschler kvk2 w/swords.
My "hoard" crosses with the tissue and my other Deschler with standard font.
No makers mark on the KVK2 w/swords from the hoard, but a mark on the other two.
If its not a hoard piece even better to have stayed in that condition all this time, the hoard ones found a few years ago in the attic of the old factory or thereabouts are easy to find. None of the hoard pieces with swords i have are marked 1 where as the without are.
