Single Ribbonbars & Buttonhole Ribbon Question?

Hi:
When is it proper to wear the single ribbonbar, say for the EK2 or KVK2,
when there is a ribbon in the buttonhole for that particular medal?
From my pictures it seems they can be worn together?
Do these single ribbonbars, with or without swords, when worn alone,
denote the 1st or 2nd class medal? Thanks all, John

The kvk ribbon bar always denotes 2nd class with or without swords as the 1st class award is worn on the uniform and no ribbon was used, and as for ribbon bar with buttonhole ribbon, I believe only one could be worn, but I think a lot of the regulations ,as far as wear, were overlooked many times.
