I dont usually collect unmarked but this was a good price and sits well in my collection

Very nice -- I prefer unmarked crosses most of the time, and my collection contains a lot of them. I sold a lot of the marked ones and got nicer (earlier) unmarked examples to replace them. More often than not the mark is just a number on an inferior, late-war cross by a maker who used to have higher quality-control standards. This is just a personal preference, obviously... but I like your unmarked S&L type very much .
