EK2 - opinions appreciated

To me it looks like an unmarked 100 (Wächtler & Lange) EK2 with the "bump" sitting on top of the frame.

to me the frame looks artificial white-lacquered. i owned nearly the same looking EK2....which turned out as a fake.

just a thought.

Nearly every Wachtler & Lange EK 2 I have seen has had a bright shiny frame.

i always believed that my ek2 is a fake ...and so i sold it for copy price ....

i think you saw my minty ek2`s on the e-stand. i bought planty of this nice ek`s from a very experienced collector. a very nice person who helped me lot when i first started collecting. the ek2 shown above i bought from someone else....and showed it to my "mentor". he told me that this is a fake and only ek2 with mm 100 have this "bump" sitting on top of the frame. he based his opinion for example on this web- site http://www.deutsche-ehrenzeichen.de/...EK2_200602.htm .

Such and similar copies of the EK 2. Class inundate increasingly the market. At this piece bad soldering of the coil eye as well as the artificial white lacquer finish of the trim are remarkable. The iron core is likewise smoothly painted. All in all the EK works thereby very plastic and badly finished. Original ones are characterised by a clean, filigrane processing. The iron core should have a matte density. Outlines at coil and eye are even if to be considered.



If that is true, lot of us will be in trouble. I think its wrong. The cross is still good to me. With so many produsers there will be a slight variation in the soldering of the eye and variations in the black finish.



What is your opinion guys ?
