        Nice L/10 marked box.

            Yes, Nice L/10 marked box

            OK, OK, seriously...

Poor definition to the obverse, hinge, pin and catchplate that would be common on a repro, "burn" marks around the hinge and catch, wierd maker's mark...

            Sorry, "not for my collection".

PS: George, you got a cough or something??

              Nice box

              Okay, I get it....
On the Spange -- I've never seen one like that without stippling behind the date and swaz. I've also never heard of one made by "95." So although the box might be good, I would have to conclude that the Spange is very most likely not.

                nice box

                Sorry George I couldn't resist.

I figured you saw that the box was marked L/10 and that the spange was marked 95. Not a match.

Mike K covered most of the other bases.

The numbers aren't right either IMO.

all comments much appreciated! this was a VERY low cost item
in that i traded a long held piece for it, so that even just getting
the box makes it a worthwhile trade.

is it not correct, however, that not all manufacturers made their
own boxes? if so, how did they get them? i realize that this is a
somewhat general question. any info is appreciated.

george, thanks for your kind help with this!
