I love your scans, but I do miss the "hot lights" so...

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. It's an extremely nice '44' with a great look and a crisp stamp. I think these Bengels are underrated. They're very solidly made, with a level of quality not unlike Meybauers, in my observation.

Also, the very first EK2 Packet I ever got was a Bengel, and it kicked off a dangerous love for the things, so I have a place in my heart for them.

Of the (3) '44's I own, this particular cross has a lower profile swasi. It's probably just due to a shallower strike. I see no differnces in the dates or the style of the swasi itself. I'll prepare a real photo later when I get back from the afternoon movies, one with my forgotten camera.
