    Opinion needed. EKII's & KVKII /w X; no X

    Hello everybody,

Here is my small & humble collection of III Reich crosses.
Please can you help me and give me your opinion about authenticity.
I have some doubts and questions. I will post them one by one.
    Thank you

    Milan

Here is the first EKII. It looks good to my amateur eye. It doesn't have a number on the ring, so if you can tell the producer, please do. To me it looks like Hanau 25.

This is my only KVKII w X
It has a number 6 on the ring and a small point near the number.
      Please rate it.

        This is my second EKII.
It has number 10 on the ring and a particular "kiss of the time" probably done by the original owner (!?). The color from swastika and from numbers is worn of intentionally. Some scratches on the edge.
I think (and I hope) this one is genuine.

This is my EKII from WWI.
It has a number on the ring. But it is so small (or damaged) it can't be read even with a magnifying glass! The letter next to the number is W.
To me it looks like almost 100 years old

            Another EKII from my collection.
This one doesn't have a number on the ring, but everything else is fine to me. Some rust on the edges and "veins". Can you tell who might be a producer?
            Thank you

              My KVK no X.
A real beauty. A ring looks like it is a bit damaged.
Do you think as same as me? Original?

The last piece from my collection. And the most intriguing!
EKII with slightly oversized edges. Also, take a good look at the numbers. The one and three in the front an on the back doesn't look the same. Eight looks strange Can some expert give me a hint? Will be much appreciated! Thank you.

                  Hello Milan,

Some nice looking crosses you have there.

The last one posted is a nice rare one - a Katz & Deyhle '60'.
I'll have a look back and see if I can identify any of the others.

                  Regards - Danny

Hello Milan and welcome to the forum.
I'll try to give Danny a hand and give my opinions. All the crosses you show are original examples so there are no worries there. (Saying that, I can't see all the photos so I hope I haven't missed any.)

The first cross is an S&L type cross. Unfortunately if there isn't a mark on the ring it will be impossible to say exactly who made it as many manufacturers used S&L parts for their crosses.

The second is a KVK2 with swords by Fritz Zimmermann and I would rate it as being in excellent condition.

The third cross is most probably made by maker '76' - Ernst L. Muller of Pforzheim. This maker was one of those using S&L parts for their crosses and also mis-stamped their mark on the ring, very often missing the top part of the 7 and 6, giving the impression of the number being '10'. I'm not sure about the ribbon being original though as I can only see one photo and a small part of the ribbon.

The fourth, Imperial cross, is by an unknown producer - LW.

The fifth looks very much like an example from maker '24' - Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Hanauer Plaket-ten-hersteller. Take a look on the small ring attached to the cross and see if there is another small mark.

The sixth cross is a nice KVK2 without swords in good condition, the ribbon ring is slightly bent. The ribbon is a repro.

Finally, the seventh and last cross is, as Danny rightly says, a '60' - Katz & Deyhle and a rare cross to find.

I hope this has helped and if I've mis-identified any of them I'm sure I will be corrected.

I knew I came to the right place. And I am happy I came with a good stuff
Thank you Danny, Adrian and Maxus for your comments. It feels good to have positive opinions from the experts like you. You really made my day (month and the year )
I noticed that something is wrong with a site where I uploaded my photos. Sadly, I can't edit my posts and insert new links. If someone needs any particular photo just PM me. I will add nowe a front picture of one of my EKII which is missing. This is the one with scratched swastika and numbers on it.

I will take time and look at other post at this forum, since there is a lot of them.
I will also add my collection to the general count of crosses of all the members present here.

                        Cheers and Blut und Ehre!
