      Couldn't they all be good, not Floch at all, but marked postwar to enhance value? I'm a bit out of my depth here as I don't know why the so-called Flochs were deemed Flochs in the first place, but I gather they have some spurious markings.

      It has been told to me that Johannes Floch began his career as a faker by adding fake-marked pins to a batch of unfinished (pinless) original EKs he found after the war. This is lore, not fact, but possibly relevant.

        You are correct. It is the leg feather.

        The other difference I see is the on the shoulders of the eagle being thicker and slightly longer. There is also what looks like a vein on both top outside feathers that is not present on the spange itself.
