DK article .......... update

2 things:

a - The reverse of the DK shown above is ONLY to illustrate the Gen Barckhausen DKiS (as a special Decoration as he retired. the star was engraved on the reverse with his name and the signature of A.H.) This is how the reverse of the DKiS appeared in an article about his DKiS in the German OuE-Magazine some times ago - it is not my purpose to comment this (probably unique) piece as I don't know it.

b - Beware of easy conclusions on the "9" default - IMO, it can be a tool but not a factual right OR bad - the default appear often (diferent according to the maker) on both embroyed and metal DK

Hi,
Can someone lead me to the thread that's dealing with the flaw at the top of the "9" in the date "1942".
I've missed it and I've noticed a flaw in the top of the 9 on my Luft cloth DKiG.
Is that bad ????

Hi Jos,

François would know better than I, but as I remember the thread (and I wish I could find it too), the flaw on the nine is not an issue. Many absolutely genuine DKiG (and now DKiS) had this flaw. I have a panzer cloth DKiG without it but I would be just as happy if it had it. Cheers,

If you have a DK "1942" - the mistake is surely not on the "9"
