    new EKII addition

just arrived and I must to say I like it.
this core missing in my Juncker EKII collection. it 's also magnetic, has a flaw in the middle of numers 1 and 9, is very loose.
in back side it 's possible to read a name.

Nice silver plated Juncker with a real nice paint .
The 3rd one I have ever seen of that type - but by far the best paint condition . The flaw in the date is where the seperator between the 1 and 9 has broken away . This flaw does get a bit worse . Something that would have happen quit suddenly . It is not a slow progressive flaw . Once it was discovered I would think the die was pulled . The same thing did happen to a 2nd core die as well . The chipped dates are not easy to find and most likely could be the reason why we find these 3 flaw Juncker frames with so many different cores !

        Very nice cross, Fabri.

Douglas, are you saying this core is Juncker-made?

No .. the core is not a Juncker made core , but one of many cores used in Juncker frames .

            Thanks Douglas,

I was curious because it's the first I have seen of this type in a 3-flaw frame. And, I don't recognize it.

I would say it is the - 1 - in the chart ...

Here's the '1' in the chart, an S&L. Please compare the tops of the '1' in the date; they're very different.

                    Hi guys
                    thank you very much.
Tomorrow I 'll make new pics, close up of inner corners and dates, I hope they can help more.

Put the pictures together ... nice match I would say . The curved tip still can be seen on the tip of the 1 .... chipping quit exstensive between the 1 and 9 .

                        Douglas,

Look at the noses of the 1's; one is sweeping up, and the other down. How can you say they are a match?

I agree with Robert regarding the noses of the '1's, they are quite different. However there are many similarities too. The '39' is a very good match and there is a distinct feature on the inside edge of the tops of the '9's that is there on both crosses. Unfortunately I'm at work and can't point it out on the photo. The bottoms of the first '9's appear to be different though.
Could it be some remodelling work has been carried out on the first two digits after the die started to deteriorate? Perhaps the core on Robert's cross came after Fabri's?

I was working on the picture - it is the same core ... so many other reference points that match exactly . Once the bridge between the 1 and 9 chipped it damaged the flange and top of the 1 . That is why the 1 looks so different - the die is the same .

                              Adrian :
The core on Robert's cross was made befor Fabri's core ... so is the bottom frame flaw shorter (smaller) on Robert's cross than on Fabri's frame which is longer (larger) .
