    Schinkel EKII

Hey all. Came across this piece. Messaged a few people already and also looked at some past posts about schinkels but I wanted to open this thread to get various opinions.

Someone suggested a Deumer Schinkel. I looked around and it does seem to match that description.

However I was told that (if I understood correctly!) the ring has a "800" mark that is believed to be post war on the ring.

It is listed as 3 piece and magnetic.

Opinions, ideas etc etc are all valued and appreciated. Many thanks ahead of time.

The 800 mark is visible in the reverse side pic, just FYI!

Sorry for the small pics. Saved them wrong. Posting larger pics ASAP!

This cross gets around a bit. The exact same cross is discussed here:

Adrian, many thanks. I just went through both threads (one led to the other! hahah).

From your pics for Robert, I am assuming that meant the "800" is nowhere near the look of a WWI dated stamp.

So, just so I understand, this is a textbook schinkel (Duemer, 3 piece, magnetic) with the exception of the (probably) post war "800" mark on the ring.

I bought it from Desotos along with his other pieces when he sold most of his Deschler collection, this is not deschler ofcourse.

I have it for sale and I certainly dont charge any extra for the 800 mark(145 euros), actuallu I havent even noticed the 800 mark,,,...

Looks like a Deumer for me. 800 on ring can be ww1 mark.

                    Daniel, I certainly didn't myself

It was pointed out to me by a friend I had showed the cross to. I had no idea what the connotations of the mark were, thus I posted it here for further debate, info.

It looks like an original example of the type attributed to Meybauer.

Why is that? Because it is just speculation that Meybauer made schinkels?
