Some EK 1 book research materials

I thought I'd post this pic of the EK 1s I've accumulated in the last month or so as part of Dietrich's and my research for our upcoming book on the Iron Cross First Class. These pieces (most of which are of hard-to-find makers or variations) are in addition to the many crosses we already have on hand, as well as those examples and pics of examples that are continually being provided to us by our fellow collectors/contributors.
Work on the book is proceeding at a steady clip, with more information and examples of awards coming into us every day. Publication is still scheduled for summer of this year. So rest assured. The book is coming and it will be well worth the wait!
(And thanks in advance to the many people who have contributed to this project so far! Your participation will make this book the fine reference work that it will most assuredly be!)

Wonderful looking pieces and as Robert said, the community as a whole is very excited for this source and we all very much appreciate the hard work and dedication put into these great books!

Awesome! Can you give us a run-down of makers and types there, or is that secret still?
        Best regards,

Hi George! Great news for all, but especially for new EK collectors like myself. I'll be 1st in line this summer to buy it!!

Some of the makers and types in the pic are somewhat hard to find, like a Hymmen screwback and a couple of Otto Schickles. Others are fairly common makers but are variations that we've been able to isolate. And some are "mystery" pieces. (I don't want to go into much more detail than that. )

Dietrich would know the answer to that better than I. I'll see if he can tell us.
