The mothers cross planchet is interesting because the book "For Fuhrer and Fatherland" clearly shows them being enameled and baked after they were die cut.

I had no idea what I was picking up at first. I thought they were just cheap repros of some sort. It wasn't until I got home that I realized they were unfinished. Something about them caught my eye thats why I picked them up. They are neat though.
I love them too. It's interesting to see the different steps taken to manufacture these items. I would love to see a book devoted just to the process of manufacture for all Third Reich militaria items. I've seen some video of old footage showing little old ladies sewing flags and foundry footage of helmets in production that I thought was very interesting. I think a book like that would be a gem collector's library. Thanks for the peek E.
