Cased gkg stick pin

That's just it, the rivet is suppose to be in the middle and the pin attached just above it.
The photo I am looking at is in Gordon's book The Iron Cross of 1939.

Ok that makes sense. When I get home from work I'll take a gander in D's book. I think I remember what I'm looking for.

Andrew, where exactly on the reverse does the rivet show, especially with that stickpin attached to the center? Anyone got a picture to illustrate?

Yep. Just got home and took a gander. All the examples illustrated are with a rivet.

Cases like that were used for stickpin jewelery, ...works great for display and storage.

I'll try to send another view from the back;
Even if we can imagine that the stick could be fixed at the same place
as the rivet, I believe that there is no rivet at this example indeed.

However, I would like to ask some more questions :
- Could the absence of a rivet not be a variant from another maker ?
- Are they existing and known copies of such items ??

To answer the two questions at hand.
1. In my short time collecting I have never seen in pics or in hand a variation that is not multi-piece construction and/or without the 1941 date. That being said I am not the authority on it, just my experience so far.
2. They copy everything and I mean everything.
