Do all 39 EK1 cases have a cross emblem on case

Hi guys

Do all 1939 EK1 cases have the silver cross emblem on top of the box? On Detlev's site there is a 39 ek 1 case listed on the New Items section that does not have the silver cross emblem on the top of the box. Is this OK? It is item number 1249. I know its sold, I am just curious.

Nope, some cases have an LDo logo or even nothing at all..

Hello Golheim,

Agreed on earlier post as EKI cases came with and with out the cross on the case,BUT, the Gold Wound badge cases also came with no marking on the exterior lid and are sometimes used for EKIs. The differnce between the two would be that the flocking very close in color and texture (cream colored on EKIs and more yellow on Gold Wound badge cases)

Also the Gold wound badge cases are typically flat on top as the EKI cases are curved, But, I have a flat EKI case that is flat on top and not curved , but has the cross on the case.

Joe is correct that it is hard to tell the difference between an unmarked EK1 and wound badge case. I cursed a case for years, due to the difficulty of extracting the cross. One day I happened to notice an imprint of something in the lid besides the outline of the cross. On close examination I realized that it was the imprint of a wound badge. The reason the EK was so difficult to extract was that the slot in the box was designed for a wound badge, not an EK.

I saw Detlev's EK1 case this morning and had reservations about it. To me it looks more like a KVK1 case without the cross on the lid. But I'll have to admit, Detlev's jugdment far exceeds mine in these matters. Robert

thanks guy. I am so concerned becuase actually I bought this case. YES IT WAS ME. Now I worry that it was not for an EK1. Oh well, I can always use it as a wound badge case. Can someone look at it on Detlev site and give me an opinion. As long as it's original either a wound badge or EK 1 case. I can use both. Was hoping for an EK 1 case though.

It's hard to say. The cutout looks rather for an EK or KVK and not for the wound. Look at the lid. There is a round raised area that I have not seen before on any case that I can remember. I suppose when you get it you can see which piece fits the case best.
