It's hard to say. From the backside it looks like silver, except some strange bronze/gold remnants. From the obverse, it seems that the cross was early gilded.
I would say from the picture that it could be a gold cross. At least it is an original Meybauer cross!

IMO its a gold one which has lost the gilt on the reverse.
