About thos two EKII Clasp

Hi all,

Once again the poor me asking for advice, even if I'm a wehrmacht collector I never handled such a piece, so your advice will be much appreciated! Sorry again for all the good or not questions here and on the KM/SS forum.

The first one look to have too large wings to me and the second seem salty but good. So what did you think ?

Both look good.
The ek1 clasp is a Buntmetall piece from a still unknown maker, the other is a late Deumer in zinc

Did you mean the first one isnt a EK clasp ? I'm a little confused!

Yes, the first one is an ek1 clasp, the other one is an ek2 clasp.

ek1 clasps are indeed bigger, and have a pinback or a screwback.

Ek2 clasps are smaller and have 2 or 4 pins that are bent to attach it to a ribbon.

Thanks again for the informations. I had always thought the EKI clasp were attach to the EK itself and not mount as a seperate awards. As I said its the first time I had some in hand.

Clasps attached to ek's are mega-rare, almost impossible to find....

no, normally it is a separate award.

I knew they are very rare to find, thats why I had always tought the un-attached one were only for EKII. Anyway thanks for sharing knowledge.
