    Cased EK 1 with questions

    Hey guys,

Got all of this the other day, I have a question about the EK 1 though.

The core seems to be a Souval "dipping 3" and the catch in the back looks like a post war souval catch. However, the catch looks like it's been replaced, so my question to the pros out there, do you think this is all in all a post war piece or could it be that it is a period EK 1 with a post war catch? On the other hand, did Souval make brass cores?

    Thanks for any query!

    Heli

Yes, I agree. On the obverse you can see where the paint has lifted when the new catch was soldered in place.

                Great!

Thx guys! So, Wächter und Lange it is. When I look at the cross in person though it looks like the 3 is dipping, doesn't really show on the picture.

If the paint would have lifted when the new catch was soldered on, wouldn't that spot be a lot lower, like in the area of the digits?

However, thanks for your help guys! Appreciate it!
