I beg to differ ....a 3 is always open , and doesnt have the crossing line running from the bottom left loop at the left side up and over the center to the right top as this one clearly does(like on the 8 of an IC).
Take a second to look again at the last shot. I still think its L/58 .Does anyone else diagree but GS. I see what you are seeing george,,,the next to last photo with lighting less intense gives it a 3 look, but when you look at the flash version (last shown) why would the curved line continue up from bottom line radius to the top tight by a depression in the metal i seems...with no breaks in the light as one uninterupted line, (at least thats what it looks like)and the left radius coming down from above meets the same line in the middle too far down for a 3 at least thats what the impression is im getting.
Photos are not good on the lighting to see exactly. I think maybe a few more shots with other light than a flash will be needed to make me see the 3 clearly if its a 3.. as one of the smaller previous ones made it look like a 2.(same curved line?)
The shots i tweaked the light also showed the same uninterupted line across where the center of the 3 post would be.
I hope it does turn out to be a 3.....as its a better maker ...but respectfully Im doubtful. Please prove my suspicions to be wrong with a better shot, as discussion I dont think will settle this at this point.
Theres gonna be lots more implecations if its a 58, as it seems to have floch similaritys, doesnt it?? I read the floch thread on crosses several times.
If the buyer doesnt get to the bottom of this he may not beable to return it if it is an 8 instead of a 3. Thats why i think its important for him to know for sure, as it doesnt matter to me.
If he can see clearly a 3 with a loupe in hand , then its a 3 for sure, and doesnt matter what i am seeing if its just an illusion by the way the lighting appears . Anyway....cheers. Whatever is the outcome, or decision.
Why is it split at the top, on the edge, is that common to a specific maker, or ??Last edited by juoneen; 01-15-2010, 06:43 PM.
