EK 2 Ribbons

Hi.
Ribbons for the EK 2.
1. Could they be different in like, some being hard and some being soft to the touch ?
2. Could the colored bands in it be of slightly different width from ribbon to ribbon ?
3. What materials where used. Silk ? Rayon ?

Many, if not all Westwall medals have a soft ribbon, while Eastern Front medal has harder ribbons.

Both ribbons below is supposed to be original.

I understand exactly what you mean about hard and soft ribbons. I would prefer soft, but wouldn't dismiss hard.

The first thing to try is shining ultra violet light on the ribbon - if the white stripe glows purple, it's bad.

The central stripe on some Iron Cross ribbons looks more orange than red, as if it has faded.

I love those. Those are early ribbons, red ones are later production.
