The obverses look quite identical, but reverses are look different.. The makermarks, hatch, the pin.. Interesting. Thoughts, anyone?

                Roman,

Is the core on your magnetic?

                  Totally different cores and reverses!

Beading is a bit hard to compare based on the photos but I would say two totally different crosses.
Note the "jumping 3" on Romans cross. My vote is

                  Regards,
                  Brett

                    Hello George!
The core is non magnetic, it's from buntmetal.

                      Hi,

I think the main pin is the key here. It is the same as those found on variously marked repros that have flooded the market lately, including L/19.

                      Sorry, not for my collection.

                      Regards
                      Mike K

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

I have one brass core with mm L/19 (if my memory serves me right) whcih looks very, very similar to George's. I would therefore tend to agree with Mike.

I would agree with Terry and Mike, someone has tried very very hard with this one, but haven't quite made it have they. It might have passed muster without the mark though (?)

Always an interesting point made by Chris. Without the mm what would members say? ANway, check this thread
