Hello,

Is there a source that could give me the names of all the individuals who received the German Cross in Gold? In particular, I need to know if Luftwaffe Generalleutnant Eduard Ritter von Schleich ever was awarded such a medal.

Yes there are lists.

Ritter von Schleich received neither gold nor silver German Crosses. He spent most of the war as senior air force commander on occupation duty in Denmark and Norway.

Thanks Rick for the information. I have read somewhere that he never obtained the award, but the source was suspect.

The section IV 2 deals with DK holders. The last book was coauthored by Patzwall and Scherzer and this is the most exhaustive. It is not out of print and might be easily found. It is rather expensive (95 EUR if my memory serves) but it is very useful.
