Just got this one in an estate buy along with other medals all to one guy unfortunately no provenance as to who the guy was. It was mounted in a frame along with some other medals and his parade uniform insignia but the fram and backing were broken. Anyway this looks a lot like the Godet in Gordons book on page 145 and it also resembles a Zimmerman. The date is identical to the Godet. This piece is unmarked and when I compare it to my marked Zimmerman this one feels a little lighter and the pin looks thinner. Even after searching this thread I'M still confused. Would like to hear what some of you other guys think. Thanks...Jeff

The comments are getting smaller, and the shameless want ads for items people are wanting to buy are getting larger, and larger in the fonts than the comments , does anybody else notice that. Its like the commercials on television are so much louder than the show. I thought that was taboo here?

Deumer NOT Godet
I agree with the others; a nice early Deumer. What gives this piece away as a Deumer is the shape of the cross; with the arms being slightly straighter than a Godet design. I also would like to note that while the pin set up of an early Deumer appears SIMILAR to a Godet; if one truly compares the two pins of the makers closely, that from a Godet is slightly more tapered.
