L 54 ek1 help with this please

i have got this ek1 quite sometime ago and always thought it to be a fake i have recently noticed its marked L54 could it just be a replaced pin ?? anyone know

I have an EKI L54 in my collection.

Makers mark should be under the catch.

Catch is no doubt a bad replacement.

I think I can just barely see it in your photograph.

On mine the mark is L 54 with no slash.

Mark could be in a square or sort of an arc shape. My l54 wound badges
have the arc shape.

Better shot of the mark would help.

The pin and catch look like they are off an old broach or piece of costume
jewellery.

Any chance of a picture of the maker's mark?

The cross itself looks good to me.

I compared it with some originals posted on the board.

Thats a GREAT cross with loads of character. A shame about the pin and catch

A good L54 with a replaced pin. I wouldn't worry about it -- it's got a lot of character as mentioned, and was probably worn by a soldier. The only thing you probably can not expect, is to ever sell it for as much as an unrepaired example, because many people like minty rather than worn crosses. But I would be very happy with this one if I were you.
