1957 Knights Cross of the Iron Cross

Seen this one on Ebay No 200417622306 at the moment around $200 US.
Is this a REAL one as the seller says or am I seeing to many trees in the forrest???

That one is a fake, or so most people believe. The same frame may be found marked for different makers (65, 20...), or with swastika-cores.
    Best regards,

Just curious... If that same cross was sold with rock-solid provenance from a WWII Knights Cross veteran, would it still be a "fake"?

If it's a fake now, without provenance, I suppose it would still be a fake if it came from a German vet. It would mean that the veteran bought, as a replacement or wearers' copy, a fake cross.

This thread really belongs over in 57. HERE is a link to a long and involved discussion of this type, found with 57 cores, swastika cores, '65', '20' and 'L/12' marks, frequently on eBay.
                Best regards,

I failed to word my question properly. The link you provided to the 57 Forum thread answered it -- Thanks Strep.
