        Boxed LDO EKII

I paid $700 dollars for mine last year. It has a ribbon and the mm number on the cross matches the number on the back of the box. I have seen them as low as $500 dollars, and as high as $900 dollars. There is one on Emedals right now for $850 dollars. I hope that helps you out. Smitty.

Looks good from the fuzzy pictures. These are far overvalued imo.
              Kind regards,

                  Hi,

As has been noted a key factor on pricing will be if the EK is MM and the MM matches the MM on the bottom of the LDO box (I see there is MM on the LDO box).

Prices that have been addressed in this thread are accurate. As for the top prices mentioned I have seen an L/55 in matching box for $900.

Wow ... I could never see why people would pay huge ridiculous amounts of money for a regular EK2 and a cardboard box

                    Scarce or not.

                    $750-$900 ..... !!???

IMHO this is insane. 800 bucks for an EKII? Personally I do not care much about makers as I find each one EKIIs I get (even from the same maker) to be a unique piece of the history of WWII (especially if they carry with them signs of the past (worn)+ I do not like minty stuff).

                      Just my two pennies..

                        Hi,

One is not paying $800 for the EK2....the majority of the cost is in the box. Yes, alot for a cardboard box but it is a rare "accessory" for those who collect the Iron Cross family. How about $1500 for a RK box, or $400-$600 for a CCC box? What about a $600 - $1000 for a rare EK@ document and that's only a piece of paper.....

Well yeah sure thats how it works. As long as there is someone willing to pay so much, these things will sell for so much (unfortunately for us poor collectors).

                            30 yrs

I Have been collecting for thirty plus years and only acquired my first and second cased EKII this past year one an L/11 and the other a L/55. They are scarce and I am happy to have finally filled that void in my EK collection. They are scarce ,how often do you see them come up for sale on dealers sites?

I think these cases are over hyped and over priced. Yes they are harder to come by, but not worth what is being asked. There are many items in the hobby like this, that are priced at a range that does not seem rational. The National Battleflags are like this. Thes flags are priced at over $500 on a regular basis, but are very easy to find. I bet there's a handful on the Estand right now. Not rare.
