EKI Mayer '26' with other pin...

    Hello gentlemen,

Just wanted to share my latest acquisition, a Mayer cross with the rarer pin assembly. This was the first type EKI I bought for myself many years ago, so it was good getting another back in the collection again. I plan on keeping this one!

And "Russian hoard" quality, to boot. Very nice!

A stunner. I like that pin assembly so much better than the standard one.
                Best regards,

No, not this one. I'm really enjoying it, Steinar.

Thanks! I've always wondered if this pin assembly was on the early Mayers.

I'm not entirely sure which is earlier.

This has been discussed, just a bit, HERE.

Hmmm, I'd never seen that thread before. It would seem that the unmarked pin was the earliest, making my cross of mid-latewar production. But, who knows for certain? Looking closely at frame die flaws could be very helpful in determining.

Nice cross Robert! I gave one consideration too, Funny how things are as there were two for sale at the same time with this pin set up.
Interested in reading Your thoughts on the frame angle as to figuring which may have been first, The chicken or the egg! LOL!
