I have tried to pull out the base but it won't budge and I don't want to force it too much like I did with my blue LDO case but here is a photo of the hinge and button. Let me know if you need extra photos.

Andrew, you're right to be cautious with the lid, don't break it.
here is what I mean concerning the hinges. the variant with LDO inside and long hinge is missing on this old picture.

on your there are 9 barrels long hinge and looks new, polished, as it is for the push button. be careful when trying to remove the lid, don't break it. The under part of the cardboard is double marked with a raising stamp “633.K.B.”

Ok Jacques, I have taken measurements of my case and managed to remove the base.

There is a round ink mark on the base. The photos show it clearly. No number on the cardboard.

Hi Andrew,
to my opinion it is a fake. I have four of such green cases, different variants, and all bottom lid are marked. generally this lid is not hard to remove. the glue has a typical dark brown colour when drys. on your box, there is not such colour on the remains of glue. moreover, your case is heavier as expected.
Fakes also exist for blue cases with LDO on top with a rounded push button instead of the square one, and heavier.
More opinion are welcome of course.

Based on these facts I agree. The case is a repro.

The cross itself is, of course, an original L/11. The question is do I keep it or return it. At 600 pounds I think it's still worth keeping.
