DKG for ??

I have a German Cross in gold with award document and would like to know if there is some way to find out why the award was presented.It's Luftwaffe dated August 1,1943.Recipient is Heinrich Graff( " over the 'a') ,unteroffizier.
Are there books of the award winners listed that are available? Photos? Any help would be appreciated.Thanks in advance.

Thank you for that info.Is this book still available or is it long out of print?
The difference in the date is interesting;it makes me wonder if they took the info from newspapers or if my date is the date of the action.What was the procedure?I can't post photos yet,but if it's of interest I can scan the things and forward them to someone.
