                          How did he safe his RK through Russian captivity???

                          Would be something new that a German soldier brought something like this home after 4 years in Russian prison camps.

                          Maybe he owned two RKs?

                          on the photo next to his RK VB it looks definitely like a K&Q RK.

                          on the photo next to his close combat clasp certificate it doesn't look like a K&Q RK.

                            If he got awarded the K&Q, he may have gotten another one for everyday wear.

                            if that is the case, that one most likely got impounded by the russians, while the awarded KC was waiting home.

                            Only a theory, but there were numerous recipients with more then one KC.
