A good W&L with a killer patina! I would take this cross any day over the often found mint W&L EKII's that are very common! Is it for sale? LOL!!! It would look great standing next to my non-mint Juncker produced EKII shown here....
I just posted these about an hour ago in another thread, but... eh, why not do it again?
W&Ls have always interested me. They made some of the best-looking frames next to Juncker, in my opinion (in fact the frames are virtually identical). But, unlike Juncker, the materials they used were not too much to my liking. The highly polished neusilber frames, the frosting, and the shiny core paint certainly ensure that these W&Ls look like new 65 years after they were made, but to me they lacked a little bit of character.
But then I saw a couple W&L's in other collections that I liked a lot... they were made from silver (like the Junckers) that took on a nice patina, they had a duller paint (or were blackened). Overall I liked the look much better. Almost every one of these earlier (I think they are earlier manufacture) EK2s I saw was unmarked. I looked and looked and looked, and finally found this beauty, marked '100' and with a matching small Tüte.
I love it.
Thanks for looking,
Best regards,
Streptile

Yes Trevor! I am in agreement with your thoughts on these!
Your cross has a great look with good patina and veining to the core! The small issue bag is a killer bonus!
