    Douglas and others,

Were not the Ubergrosse frames produced from silver content alloy?

I would like to add an admendmet here to the use and silver marking of EK ... in peticular EK1s . The only maker I know for certain that marked some of their crosses with a 'silver mark' was Rettenmaier , as you were able to order your cross struck on silver grade sheets . Being LDO crosses may have been the reason they were able to do this . Purity percentages were not used ... only in form of symbols , like dots , diamond , cressant moon etc ...
To mention as a point of interest ... a handfull of early manufacturers produced a very low number of early award crosses on -unmarked- coin stock planchets which they had on hand .

So... We can assume that no crosses were marked .800 then Douglass? I read this as L59 using a code stamp (Square, Circle etc...) for silver content?
I know You had been working on a Rettnmeyer project (Like Your fine Juncker project) and wonder when You get around to releasing it if Your take, or a key of sorts on these interesting little stamps will be included?
And yes? What of Roberts question of Ubergross frames being a high silver content?

800 Marked Schickle on latest thread

        Gentlemen:
Apparently another 800 marked WWII cross has appeared on the thread named "Opinions on this Knight's Cross Please." This time it is an Otto Schickle Knight's Cross. Good patina. Looks like an original with that "dimpled 800 mark on the ring and on the top of the cross below the ring hole.
Any thoughts on this you gentlemen might have would be much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance for your attention to this matter.
        Rolf

'800' marked Knight's Crosses are common (although I understand the Schickle is contentious).
          Best regards,
