it is an ol;d thread, but I thought I'd post them here as well.

With Trevor's assistance I managed to land 2 Juncker Schinkels over a short period.
I did find them, but Trevor confirmed that they were Juncker Schinkels indeed.
By now I know what to look for ...

Both textbook, both have a non-magnetic core
Still haven't decided which one to part with, I like them both.....

Sorry, but the 1939 EK1 have imo not the Schinkel form!

Please see the following exemples on the following page! It looks all simular compared to the WW2 frame, even if the first cross named Wide Frame Schinkel!

Here are the known Schinkel form for compare!

Steafn, if you read the full thread you will see that these are schinkel crosses, because the franes used are pre-45....

                          Ben,

your last shown Juncker has imo not the schinkel form. The arms of a Schinkel should looks much more narrow.

                          You can see it here!

                            Very nice examples Ben,

I'm in total agreement with Trevor's assessment of these being pre-'45 framed crosses. He did a thorough job in identifying them for us.

                              5tefan,

what Ben is saying is if you read the full thread, Trevor does an AMAZING job of talking about and explaining why what you posted, commonly known as "schinkels" is a bit different than what the term actually could or should mean. He talks about the pre '45 production and use of materials and left overs. It's a GREAT read and shines some light on "out of the box" thinking. I strongly suggest you read it and see what he presents, then make your own decision!

P.S. Ben if you ever get rid of either, i'm all over it

I read already everythink! Maybe it must be the 1st of April joke

Ok, did Orth marked 15 made Schinkel EK1 ?

See picture comparison! Of an wide frame Juncker and Orth marked 15 - the same cross like in the "The Iron Cross 1. Class" book from Dietrich März & George Stimson page 102!!!

1st Picture: Juncker "Wide-Frame Schinkel" vs. common Orth marked 15!

2nd Picture: Juncker "Wide-Frame Schinkel" vs. Paul Meybauer (Schinkel)

I can understand that every one want a Schinkel
