DKiG "134" authentic?? retaining hook Issue??

Hello gentlemen - Happy New Year.

I purchased this Otto Klein "134" in December. I just received it and I have a question regarding possible authenticity - My research has never found this type of retaining hook - mainly where attached to the surface of award. It apears that Mine does not have a base plate. There is a stain or shadow of some kind that makes it look as though there is a base plate. But I cannot see it. Pg 204 in gordon's book clearly illustrates a base plate, and I have reviewed all of the posts this forum. All have base plate. Two good threads:

    and Marcus

I ask for your opinions, I hope the pictures are okay. If you PM me I will direct you to the dealer's website - He is well known and a gentleman.

    weight 44g, width top/bottom 63.18, width side/side 63.08

Thank you in advance - dear I say fire away

    Erik

Your specs are okay. Are you sure it doesn't have a base plate on the catch?

                        More pictures on the way,

The "stain or shadow" is completely smooth. To my eye there is no visible base plate as seen on the hinge - which is obvious. The colour of the shadow is a transparent gun metal grey - tinge of purple.

Maybe the base plate has been attached perfectly and finished - I have never seen that.

Hard for me to explain. If there is a base plate it is the same size as the bottom of retaining hook + 1 mil. It has been soldered on and finished so there is no visible line (except shadow) or feel to it.

Or maybe I am looking at an optical illusion - and I need to go back to the books - I do not see it?

                        Sorry for the answer ...

pictures on way in 5 min

Another - very smooth marking ... again more like a stain to my eye...

Eric, I feel that I can comment on this as I this is the only Dkg that I have! It looks good to me. I think that they just did one hell of a job sodering the catch and plate into the reverse. I think that I can see the out line of a plate below the catch. I like it.
