    Opinions on EK1

    Hi,
I would like to hear your opinion on this EK1. I have a bad feeling about the pinblock, what do you think ?
    Thanks very much,
    Alex

That is not a C.F. Zimmermann EK 1.

Here is my double-marked Zimmerman...it is not "20", whatever it is...

I still need EK1's L/14 Screwback and Pinback.

Considering the wrong marking and the high placement of the hinge and the 'aged' reverse I find this highly suspectible.

Gentlemen, I think we can call this spade a spade. That is simply not an original C.F. Zimmermann "20" EK 1. And that makes it.... a bad spade.

Here you go, a known fake baby. The good thing - I now have better pics of it!

                  Very authentic reproduction

Have a look at this website and it explains more on this EK.

                  http://www.soldat.com/GDR.htm

                  http://www.soldat.com/Juwelier%20Qual%20Repro.htm

it really makes collecting medals and badges of the third reich a heartbreaker.
                  Good luck next time.

                  regards,

                  DJ

As DJ pointed out with his link there are places selling "high quality repros'' Soldat being just one,Ive posted links to some others in the past. What got my attention with the posted link was at the bottom of

                      http://www.soldat.com/Juwelier%20Qual%20Repro.htm

                      where it says:

That's very nice of them, sell well made maker marked fakes then write and sell a book on how to tell they are fakes. I have no problem with someone selling replicas/reproductions, if they were to mark/stamp them as repros. They order enough of these from the firms and I use that term loosely to say they want them marked that way.

Are you telling me that these are fakes? The Schwerin badges look very nice to me. This is scary!
